LAPIZ and Mexico Tourism’s Message to Patricias
Trish, Patty, Tricia, Pad Thai — whatever you prefer to be called, if your name is Patricia, you could be one of 25 to win a trip to Mexico.
LAPIZ created an quirky new campaign for the Mexico Tourism Board, “Patricia,” to invite the “good” Patricias of the world to the Vallarta-Nayarit and Manzanillo region of Mexico after Hurricane Patricia (aka “bad Patricia”) made landfall in the area in October.
The agency tapped actress Patricia Heaton of ABC’s “The Middle” to star in the campaign and recruit fellow Patricias. Those named Patricia can enter the contest by visiting WelcomePatricias.com or by posting a photo of themselves ready for a vacation, just as Mexico was ready for the storm, and using #WelcomePatricias #Sweepstakes on social media.
You may remember LAPIZ’s award-winning “Reselfies” campaign from last year, which featured celebrities like Reese Witherspoon and Mario Lopez re-creating images from tourists in Los Cabos to show the region was open and ready for business after Hurricane Odile struck the resort town.
